Bruce Wolfe is Managing Director of Conrad Gargett, one of Australia’s leading design practices. Bruce is highly respected Architect has worked on some of Australia’s largest and most innovative building projects in both design and management roles.
For the past seven years Bruce has led the master planning, design and delivery team on the $1.5B Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital opened at the end of November 2014. As a public building this facility enshrines some of Bruce’s principal design concerns, connection to community, inviting and experiential architecture and an integration between art and place. Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital has won a number of awards including Winner of the Design and Health International Academy award for Salutogenic Design Project for Healthcare Environment and the Australian Institute of Australia Queensland Building of the year.
Bruce has recently led the Master Plan team and is currently technical advisor to the state, for the $2.5b Sunshine Coast University Hospital scheduled for completion in 2016. He has also undertaken commissions for major works in University and Defence Campuses throughout Queensland Australia.
Bruce continues to lead Conrad Gargett in placing design and sustainability at the center of their work, receiving professional recognition as well as accolades and awards for design and environmental excellence.
His work in the design of facilities for institutional projects demonstrates an inherent understanding of the inter-relationships between client, community and the building industry.
Bruce is Adjunct Professor and member of the academic advisory board at the School of architecture, University of Queensland and a member of the Queensland Board for Urban Places.
