Sean Clifton, PE, SE, is a Senior Principal at Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA), an award-winning, 185-person structural and civil engineering firm founded in 1920 and with locations in Seattle, Washington, and Chicago, Illinois.

Clifton is a leader in MKA’s efforts in Southeast Asia and throughout North America, and an experienced engineer in both high-rise and Performance-Based Seismic Design towers, having personally led the design of over 50 high-rise projects. With diverse experience from working on projects around the world he is equipped with an impressive skill set spanning multiple building typologies and construction materials. His most recent efforts include implementing Performance-Based Wind Design on buildings in Austin, Texas. As a member of MKA’s High-Rise Structures, Concrete, Performance-Based Design, Sustainability, and Wind Technical Specialist Teams, Clifton has a passion for efficient and cost-effective structures that realize project goals and architectural vision.
