About Matthew Makes

Matt is the Director of Business Development for Turner International. In this capacity, his responsibilities include finding and closing new project opportunities outside of North America and analyzing new markets for potential expansion. All of Matt’s 13 years in the design and construction industry have been with Turner, a majority of which were spent working on projects in the field. After graduating from the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University, Matt began his career as a field engineer in Turner’s Connecticut office, progressing through several assignments in the Education and Interiors market segments. In 2006, he accepted an opportunity with Turner in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, managing the exterior wall and façade contracts on the Burj Khalifa, now the world’s tallest building. About Matthew Makes

Matt is the Director of Business Development for Turner International. In this capacity, his responsibilities include finding and closing new project opportunities outside of North America and analyzing new markets for potential expansion. All of Matt’s 13 years in the design and construction industry have been with Turner, a majority of which were spent working on projects in the field. After graduating from the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University, Matt began his career as a field engineer in Turner’s Connecticut office, progressing through several assignments in the Education and Interiors market segments. In 2006, he accepted an opportunity with Turner in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, managing the exterior wall and façade contracts on the Burj Khalifa, now the world’s tallest building. His five years in the Middle East founded a passion to continue expanding Turner’s international project portfolio, and following completion of his MBA from George Washington University in 2012, he rejoined Turner International. He is based in the New York City office and travels regularly to the company’s regional offices in Southeast Asia, Europe, India, and Latin America.

Matt grew up and currently lives in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife Paula, and he enjoys golfing whenever possible.
